Plagiarism

Plagiarism is a very serious concern that has the power to completely derail your academic career. Here are some resources to guide you going forward so that you know what plagiarism is; the consequences if you plagiarise; and how to avoid it (citations!). If you have any concerns regarding plagiarism, you can ask your professor, or come to the McKay Library and make an appointment with the music librarian. As we discover more resources, we'll add them below:

1. University of Utah Plagiarism Guide

This is a resource created on campus by the Eccles Health Sciences Library. It is a comprehensive resource to introduce you to the subject and offers examples that are helpful even if they are concerned mainly with content in the health sciences.

2. Plagiarism.org

Extremely useful to students and teachers with a wealth of information related to understanding, preventing, checking, and teaching about plagiarism.
