April 19
7:30 p.m. | Libby Gardner Concert Hall
Please join the University of Utah Chamber Choir for the world premiere of Adrian
Dunn's, The 42 Project! Dr. Austin Thorpe and the University of Utah Chamber Choir have commissioned Mr. Dunn
to write a choral suite honoring the 75th anniversary of Jackie Robinson integrating Major League Baseball with the Brooklyn Dodgers on April
15, 1947. We seek to honor Jackie, his family, and all that he stood for as an exemplary
athlete and civil rights icon.
The composer will be in residency on April 18 and 19 for the premiere and will sing
the part of Jackie Robinson in the five-movement suite. Also joining the Chamber Choir
will be Metropolitan Opera singer Lynnesha Crump, singing the part of Rachel Robinson,
Jackie's wife. Prior to the performance at 6:30 p.m. in the Thompson Chamber Hall,
Mr. Dunn will provide a free pre-concert talk discussing his new work and the inspiration
behind it. We hope to see you at the historic world premiere of Adrian Dunn's, The 42 Project!
