Student Success

• Xueji Sun (Jason) (DMA), won the Platinum Medal in the Artist Category at the Canadian International Music Competition. He has also won the first prize (gold medal) in the Grand Metropolitan International Music Competition in NYC.
• Hongda Wu (DMA), won the 2022 Golden Classical Piano Competition in New York City, and he performed in Carnegie Hal in December in 2022.
• Richard He Chang (DMA), was a finalist in the MTNA 2022 Performance Competition National Final in 2022.
• Qi Su (DMA) and Yanqi Wang (DMA), the Utah Piano Duo, won the first prize in the MTNA Stecher and Horowitz Two Piano Competition National Final Competition in 2022. They competed against finalists from Eastman School of Music, Indianan University, New England Conservatory and others.

And finally, the SummerArts Concerto Concert was a great success where 5 young pianists from the community performed Mendelssohn, Mozart, and Beethoven with the American West Symphony in Libby Gardner Concert Hall.
