Three doctoral students of orchestral conducting secure career opportunities before graduation

Brandon Horrocks, 1st-year DMA Student: Recently appointed Music Director and Conductor for both the  Wasatch Symphony (SLC) and the Utah Philharmonic (Bluffdale). Assistant Conductor for the Salt Lake Symphony from January-July, 2021. Assistant Conductor for the West Jordan Symphony.  

Michael Leavitt, 3rd -year DMA Student: Music Director and Conductor for Salt Lake Acting Company. Upcoming conducted performances of his opera, A Christmas Carol, with the Salt Lake Symphony.

Matthew Makeever, 2nd -year DMA Student. Recently appointed Faculty and Music Director for the Salt Lake Community College/Taylorsville Symphony. Assistant Conductor for the Salt Lake Symphony. Founding Music Director and Conductor of the Milwaukee Philharmonic.
