Biography

David Hall is a well-versed woodwind musician playing and teaching saxophone, clarinet, and flute in both jazz and classical genres across the western United States. He earned his Doctoral Degree in Classical Saxophone Performance and Education, and his Master’s Degree in Jazz Performance and Composition, both from the University of Utah. This breadth of musical knowledge, tied with a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) degree from Westminster College, has helped him build a successful business in both music education and instrument repair. David performs with The Night Star and Salt Lake City Jazz Orchestras and has performed with internationally-recognized musicians such as Doc Severinsen, Ellis Hall, Pete Christlieb, Don Menza, Eddie Daniels, Vinnie Falcone, Chuck Findley, Ira Nepus, and award-winning classical pianist, Kirill Gerstein. He is also plays regularly at Pioneer Memorial Theater and for Broadway Across America shows at Eccles Theater, most recently playing Mean Girls in 2021. David believes that a well-cared for instrument is essential to the road to a successful music experience. His repair clients, which include public schools, the University of Utah, and many professional musicians, turn to Dave for both upkeep and professional instrument repair. He is a recording musician, working with some of the best recording studios in Salt Lake City. Recording musical books to ESPN fight songs, David has a broad music-style versatility.
