Biography
Bettie Jo Basinger holds a BA in French Horn Performance, a Master's Degree in Musicology, and a PhD in Musicology, all from UCLA. A specialist in orchestral program music of the 19th century (especially Liszt's symphonic poems), Dr. Basinger has received academic awards and scholarships from UCLA's Department of Musicology.
Her informal, enthusiastic, and informative teaching has merited special recognition at both Weber State University and Utah State University, institutions at which she formerly served as adjunct professor. She currently belongs to the American Musicological Society, the American Liszt Society, and the College Music Society.
