Biography

Dr. Stephanie DeLuca is the Assistant Director of Athletic Bands at the University of Utah. Dr. DeLuca recently completed the Doctor of Philosophy degree in Music Education with an emphasis in Wind Band Conducting at the Florida State University. She also completed the Bachelor of Music Education and Master of Music in Wind Band Conducting degrees at Baylor University.

While at FSU, Dr. DeLuca served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant and Conductor for the FSU Bands, Athletic Bands, undergraduate conducting courses, marching band techniques, Commencements Brass, and produced the PRISM Concert Series. While at Baylor, she served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant and Conductor for the Baylor Bands, Athletic Bands, and undergraduate conducting courses. She was also a featured guest conductor with the Baylor Symphony Orchestra. She has studied conducting under the batons of Prof. Richard Clary, Dr. Patrick Dunnigan, and Dr. Eric Wilson.

Prior to attending FSU, Dr. DeLuca served as Associate Director of Bands at Clifton High School and Middle School in Clifton, TX. At the Texas State Marching Band Championships, the Clifton High School Marching Band placed second in 2015 and seventh in 2017. Dr. DeLuca also maintained superior ratings with the Clifton Middle School Band program and placed in the Texas Outstanding Performance Series. 

Dr. DeLuca is an active guest conductor and has served as a clinician and adjudicator for concert and marching festivals across the south. Her professional affiliations include College Band Directors National Association, Women Band Directors International, Texas Bandmasters Association, Texas Music Educators Association, Pi Kappa Lambda, Omicron Delta Kappa, and Mu Phi Epsilon.
