Teaching Philosophy
Tatyana is using the “Russian Technique” training combined with the best traditions of American school. She focuses on the intense training, based on scales and etude practice. She develops a singing, deep cantabile tone quality on the piano, influenced by the bel canto style of Russian vocal music. This also involves cultivating a very relaxed hand and arm technique; emphasis on musical expression and phrasing. Students are expected to actively engage with the emotional and artistic content of the music and slow methodical practice to build control and fluency.
