Biography

Susanna earned her master's degree in organ performance from the University of Utah where she studied with Linda Margetts.  Following her graduation, she studied organ in Seattle with Carole Terry of the University of Washington.  Currently a guest organist on Temple Square, Susanna performs regularly in recital on the Tabernacle and Conference Center organs.

She participated in the Gothenburg International Organ Festival in Sweden where she also performed works by J. S. Bach and studied with William Porter from Eastman School of Music and Hans Davidsson.

Susanna has performed throughout the United States and in Europe. A recipient of the Leroy Robertson fellowship, she featured his works in recitals around Salt Lake Valley. Susanna appeared in concert with Jenny Oaks Baker and the Lux Singers. She often accompanies the Salt Lake Choral Artists under the direction of Brady Allred. Currently, she is the organist for Sterling Singers where she works with conductor Alison Unsworth.

Susanna worked as Music Director and organist for the First Unitarian Church of Salt Lake for ten years where she initiated a Chamber Music Vesper series. She served as guest organist for Cottonwood Presbyterian church this past summer.

Susanna enjoys collaborating with other artists, accompanying many singers and instrumentalists. She studied the Art Song with Gwendolyn Koldofsky and Natalie Lamonick at the University of Oregon at Eugene. She joins frequently with the combined choirs and orchestras at the University of Utah to perform in the Camerata Awards Concert Gala.

In addition to teaching private organ students and group organ classes, Susanna has taught private and group piano as well as music appreciation classes for dancers.

Susanna also holds a degree in piano performance and pedagogy from Brigham Young University where she studied on scholarship with Paul Pollei, Jeffrey Shumway, Reid Nibley and Parley Belnap.
