Biography

Sarah Palma has been playing Classical Guitar since she was seven years old. She added Jazz study to her repertoire when she entered Murray High School at the age of fifteen. She played as first chair in the Jazz Guitar Ensemble and as the only guitarist for the Jazz Ensemble during her three years at Murray High. Each year, superior ratings were awarded for her solo performances on Classical Guitar at the State Solo and Ensemble Festival, and as a senior, she was recognized with an outstanding soloist award at the State Jazz Festival.
Sarah has studied with Stan Funicelli, Kenji Aihara, Tully Cathey and Todd Woodbury. As a student in the Music Program at the University of Utah, she performs in the Classical and Jazz Guitar Ensembles. Sarah performs in a variety of settings including private parties and events, patients and their families in hospitals, and formal concerts. Sarah is currently an ambassador for the School of Music as a RedHots! performer.
She is currently an instructor for the Preparatory Division and ArtsBridge programs at the University of Utah, and at Consonus Music Institute, a guitar academy. Sarah also maintains a private studio.

The goal for all students in our guitar programs to make music in a positive and productive context - generating self -satisfaction, fulfillment and well-being to all involved.
