Fall 2021 Covid-19 Safety Recommendations

maskinsideAll students, faculty, staff, and external entities and audiences using University facilities please follow University of Utah Covid-19 safety recommendations:

1. Getting vaccinated is recommended. Contact tracing protocols require unvaccinated students who have been exposed to Covid-19 to quarantine, but vaccinated students who have been exposed to Covid-19 are not required to quarantine. In an ensemble, the more students are vaccinated, the more likely the ensemble will be able to rehearse without students having to miss ensemble rehearsals due to quarantine.

2. Wearing a mask indoors is recommended. Masks are available at the front desk of the School of Music Office and at the McKay Music Library. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends that everyone (vaccinated or unvaccinated) wear a mask indoors in public if in an area of “substantial or high Covid-19 transmission.” As of August 2021, Salt Lake County is an area of high Covid-19 transmission. The University of Utah recommends that all students, faculty, staff, external entities and audiences using University facilities, follow the recommendation from the CDC.
