Biography
Linda Margetts is currently the Temple Square Organist for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Her duties including weekly recitals on the Mormon Tabernacle Organ, accompanying the Temple Square Chorale, and performing in the Mormon Tabernacle Choir's weekly international television broadcast of Music and the Spoken Word. Margetts has performed recitals in Jerusalem and Vienna and has performed in concerts across the United States and Canada.
Margetts is an active Fellow of the American Guild of Organists, and she is currently enrolled in the Music Composition Ph.D. program at the University of Utah. She is a former faculty member of Utah State University and has taught at the Summer Workshop on Church Music at Brigham Young University for more than 20 years.
Margetts has been actively involved in organ guild service, serving as Dean of the Salt Lake Chapter of the American Guild of Organists for two years, and for five years she served as State Chairman of the AGO. Currently, Margetts is the Chairman for AGO Regional Competitions. She has judged organists for the Utah State Fair Competition on numerous occasions, has adjudicated for Guild certification, and was a member of the Organ Selection Committee for the new Libby Gardner Hall organ.
