
Biography
Suzannah Rose, a pianist and educator, holds degrees from Brigham Young University
(MM Piano Performance) and the University of Utah (BM Piano Performance and Pedagogy).
She has over a decade of teaching experience during which she has taught music students
in many different settings: at Brigham Young University as a graduate instructor,
privately in her own studio both in-person and online, and at Washington Elementary
as a volunteer for the University of Utah Student Outreach Program. Over the years,
Suzannah has been an active member of MTNA, holding leadership positions in collegiate
chapters and presenting at both state and national conferences. Her teaching emphasizes
individualized learning, strong technique, and injury prevention.
Suzannah has won 1st prize in various competitions, including the 2018 UMTA Piano
Concerto Competition, and the 2019 SummerArts Piano Competition, solo undergraduate
division. Suzannah soloed with the Utah Philharmonia as 1st place winner of the UofU
School of Music Concerto Competition (2020), performed with the Pentasuite Quintet
in the quarter-finals of the National Fischoff Chamber Music Competition (2018), with
Rose and Liu Piano Duo in the semi-finals of the New England International Chamber
Music Ensemble Competition (2020), and again with the Pentasuite Quintet at Carnegie
Hall, as 1st Place and Judges Distinction Award winners of the International American
Protégé Competition. She was a Utah Symphony Salute to Youth finalist 2015, 2016,
and 2018, and at age 13, performed in Tokyo, Japan with Young Pianists International.
When she’s not at the piano, Suzannah enjoys reading, kayaking, and word games.
