Teaching Philosophy

As an educator I feel it is important to give students a solid foundation in the basics of piano study. I feel it is an important part of a student enjoying playing and appreciating music. At the same time, I feel studying any art can be a means to better understand themselves and the world around them. By teaching basic principles of life such as accountability, discipline, persistence, patience, and responsibility they become more confident in themselves and their abilities. I always ask more of my students than what they feel they are capable of and ask them to strive for excellence in their work.
