Thompson Chamber Music Hall provides the flexibility to host a variety of events, from more intimate concerts and banquets to receptions and personal celebrations. This grand ballroom features high, intricately carved ceilings and stunning columns adorned with gold leaf, creating an elegant atmosphere for any occasion. Elegant French doors open to three balconies that overlook the beautiful Bruce W. Bastian Atrium, enhancing the ambiance and offering a picturesque backdrop for your event.

Dumke Recital Hall stands as our dedicated space for recitals, lectures, and presentations. With a seating capacity of 114, this hall features stadium seating that ensures an engaging experience for guests. The Dumke Recital Hall is a generous gift from the Katherine W. and Ezekiel R. Dumke Foundation, and it stands as a testament to the commitment to fostering the arts in our community. This hall offers a refined and acoustically rich environment for smaller, more intimate events.

The Bruce W. Bastian Atrium hosts a glass skylight and open-air ambiance created by glass walls and doors. This unique setting is perfect for receptions, gatherings, and post-concert celebrations. The Atrium's combination of natural light, lush greenery, and grand staircase creates an enchanting environment for bringing patrons and performers together.

  • The Marriner S. Eccles Grand Staircase gracefully ascends from the the main floor of the Atrium to the entrance of Libby Gardner Concert Hall, providing a stunning focal point as guests arrive.
  • Honoring our generous supporters, the etched glass donor walls at the base of the Grand Staircase highlight the contributions of School of Music donors, adding a touch of elegance and appreciation to the space.
  • Catering Options: Guests may select their caterer of choice, ensuring a customized dining experience. Please note that caterers must provide a Certificate of Insurance.

Recordings

Our venues offer high-quality recording services in three exceptional spaces: Libby Gardner Concert Hall, Thompson Chamber Music Hall, and Dumke Recital Hall. Each hall is equipped with automated, specialized recording equipment that enhance and capture the outstanding performances that take place in David P. Gardner Hall. Artists may request the raw audio files for their own use. They are also free to bring in their own recording equipment and/or engineers to record in our acoustically superior venues.

Hall Suggestions:

  • Libby Gardner Concert Hall: Known for its stunning acoustics and spacious stage, this hall is perfect to host from the large orchestral and choral groups to the professional soloist to record in. The uniqueness of the adjustable sound wall allows for nuanced control over reverberation time.
  • Thompson Chamber Music Hall: With its elegant setting and versatile layout, this hall is ideal for solo recordings to chamber music recordings. 
  • Dumke Recital Hall: This intimate venue is designed for recording smaller ensembles and soloists alike.
