Dr. Weihui Mao made her debut with the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra in 1988 and moved to the U.S. a year later to start her career as a performer. With several top prizes from international and national piano competitions on her resume, Mao completed her bachelor’s degree at the University of Utah, and with an extensive repertoire, worldwide critical acclaim and a doctorate of musical arts from the University of Southern California, under and guidance of Ms. Antoinette Perry. Mao is considered one of the most respected pianists and educators of her generation. Her unique expression of occidental and oriental charm has thrilled audiences throughout Asia, Europe and the U.S., including appearing as a soloist with more than 50 symphony orchestras worldwide.

As a prestigious Steinway Artist, Dr. Mao has brought not only her musical inspiration to audiences worldwide, but also her unique and passionate teaching style to cities throughout China, giving lectures and Master Classes to piano teachers, young musicians and parents. Her new book about children learning piano has been a best seller for two years, answering all questions to parents with young children starting music lessons. Her national tour of has become a national phenomenon, bringing thousands of piano students to the big stages.

Together with Shanghai Music Publishing House, Dr. Mao recently translated Melody Bober's "Grand Solos for Piano", "Grand Duets for Piano", and "Grand Trios for Piano" into Chinese, making them popular repertoires for Chinese piano students.
