Biography

Chris Hough, a professional guitarist, vocalist, and studio musician, moved to Salt Lake City from the Boston area where he taught guitar to private school, college, and high school students ranging from ages six to adult for 12 years. He graduated from Berklee College of Music in 1982 with a Bachelor’s degree in professional music and has 29 years professional playing experience. Chris has played for a wide audience, including the 1993 Presidential Inaugural Ball and is fluent in jazz, rock, and pop styles. He has a unique talent for connecting with students, and his teaching style includes the belief that students learn best within the context of their individual tastes in music in a fun and learning environment. Chris currently teaches jazz guitar at the University of Utah and Westminster College.
