Biography
Natalia Lauk comes from a lineage of classical piano instruction. Both of her parents
have been teaching piano for more than 50 years. Natalia was born and raised in Siberia,
Russia where she studied piano from the age of four. She received a Master’s Degree
in Piano Performance, Piano Pedagogy, and Collaborative Piano at Krasnoyarsk State
Institute of Arts.
In 2011, she moved to Pocatello, Idaho and started working as a private piano instructor.
After a few years, Natalia joined Idaho State University’s Music Department. As the
Departmental Collaborative Pianist, she performed with various soloist and ensembles
including ISU Concert and Chamber Choirs. Natalia also worked as the Assistant Director/Senior
Piano Instructor at the ISU Preparatory Piano Program.
As a guest artist, Natalia performed with Idaho State Civic Symphony, ISU Concert
Band, and Glacier Symphony. Natalia’s last solo recital raised $3000 for the ISU Music
scholarship.
In June 2022, she was one of the performers for Concert for Ukraine which raised over
$40 000.
In 2021, Natalia began her doctoral studies at Dr. Vedrana Subotic's studio at the
University of Utah (Salt Lake City, UT). She received a Teaching Assistantship at
the UofU Preparatory Piano Program. After completing her degree, Natalia plans to
return to Pocatello, ID and continue teaching privately in her studio.
