
Biography
Dr. Caceres is the Adjunct Professor of Clarinet at the University of Utah School
of Music, Principal Clarinet of the Sinfonia Salt Lake, Bass Clarinet of the Ballet
West Orchestra, Director of Bands at American Preparatory Academy Schools, Draper,
Utah Campuses and the Artistic Director and Principal Clarinet of the Forward 4 Clarinet
Quartet. He has been performing professionally since 1993; highlights include playing
as a soloist with the most important orchestras in Chile (Chilean National Symphony
(Weber Concertino), Concepcion Symphony Orchestra(Copland Clarinet Concerto, Weber
Clarinet Concerto N2), in the United States with the Utah Philharmonia Orchestra (Jean
Francaix Clarinet Concerto) and the Sinfonia Salt Lake (Henry Wolking Clarinet Concerto
Gone Playin').
Dr. Caceres has won the most prestigious national competitions both in the U.S. and
in his native country, Chile. Among the most important are: Utah Philharmonia Concerto Competition, Twice Finalist of the International
Clarinet Association's Orchestra Audition Competition (Austin Texas 2010 and Los Angeles
2011), Concepcion Symphony Concerto Competition (2007), Andes Foundation Prize, and
Discovery Season 2001 (Chilean National Symphony Orchestra) among others. He has also
performed at the International Clarinet Festivals in Asisi, Italy, and in the U.S.A.
in Lincoln, Nebraska and Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
He plays on Lumiere Bb and A Clarinets (Gold Posts).
