Alexandria Parra holds a Doctor of Musical Arts Degree from the University of Utah in Flute Performance where she was a Robertson Prize winner. Her research focused on the performance and pedagogy of contemporary extended technique flute repertoire in the traditional university setting.
Dr. Parra has performed with many ensembles including the Utah Symphony, the New Life Symphony Orchestra Southwest, the DePaul Symphony Orchestra, the Spazia Musica Orchestra in Italy and the Utah Philharmonia where she was a featured soloist as winner of the 2017 Concerto Competition. A dedicated educator, Dr. Parra has taught a wide range of topics including Private Flute Lessons, World Music, and Introduciton to Music.
Dr. Parra additionally holds an MM from DePaul University and a BM from the University of New Mexico where she graduated summa cum laude and received the prestigious Presser Award.
Outside of teaching and performing, Ali loves to explore her city of residence by meeting new people and trying every coffeeshop the city has to offer.
