Utah International Piano Academy & Competition

Rules

  • Young Musican (10 and under) - Students may choose to  enter the competition with either Solo or Concerto
    • Two contrasting solo works: one must be from either the baroque or classical periods (limited to 5 minutes, total)
    • OR
    • One movement of a standard piano concert (the accompanist will be provided at additional cost)
  • Elementary (11-12) - Students may choose to  enter the competition with either Solo or Concerto
    • Two contrasting solo works: one must be from either the baroque or classical periods (limited to 8 minutes, total)
    • OR
    • One movement of a standard piano concert (the accompanist will be provided at additional cost)
  • Junior (13 -15) - Students may choose to  enter the competition with either Solo or Concerto
    • Two contrasting solo works: one must be from either the baroque or classical periods (limited to 12 minutes, total)
    • OR
    • One movement of a standard piano concert (the accompanist will be provided at additional cost)
  • Young Artist (16-18) - Students may choose to enter the competition with either Solo or Concerto
    • Two contrasting solo works: one must be from either the baroque or classical periods (limited to 15 minutes, total)
    • OR
    • One movement of standard piano concerto (the accompanist will be provided at additional cost)
  • College Division (currently enrolled in college or university) - Students may choose to enter the competition with either Solo or Concerto
    • Two contrasting solo works: one must be from either the baroque or classical periods (limited to 20 minutes, total)
    • OR
    • One movement of standard piano concerto (the accompanist will be provided at additional cost)
