A select group of advanced masters and doctoral students receive individualized and highly specialized conducting training in a rich learning environment with ample podium time.
The MM is a two-year, 33 credit hour program in either instrumental or choral conducting. Courses consist of private conducting lessons, bibliography, music history and literature, advanced music theory, conducting seminars and large ensemble. A conducting recital is required.
The DMA is a three-year, 56-70 credit hour program consisting of private conducting lessons, large ensemble, music history and literature, advanced music theory, conducting seminars, performance practice and courses in a related field. A dissertation essay and four recitals are required.
