Three-time Grammy nominee Tambuco Percussion Ensemble is counted among the most innovative percussion quartets in the world. Its wide-ranging style – from ethnic drum music to avant garde sound interpretation – appeals to audiences worldwide and has contributed to Tambuco’s reputation for excellence. Since its formation in 1993, the ensemble’s four Mexican musicians have performed in top venues on five continents and received numerous international awards for their impressive musicianship and original repertoire.

One of today’s most promising coloratura sopranos, Salt Lake City native Erin Morley is a dazzling newcomer to the opera world. A member of the prestigious Metropolitan Opera Lindemann Young Artist Development Program from 2007-10, Morley has performed leading roles in some of the world’s foremost operas and venues – from Carnegie Hall to Opéra national de Paris. Since her graduation from Juilliard in 2007, Morley has garnered worldwide praise. The New York Timesdescribed one of her recent engagements with the Met as “formidable.”

Canadian pianist Janina Fialkowska is celebrated as one of the greatest interpreters of the piano works of Chopin and Mozart. For more than three decades, she has enchanted audiences worldwide with her stunning lyrical sound, profound musical integrity and sterling musicianship. Fialkowska’s impressive career was kickstarted by her work under the tutelage of master pianist Sascha Gorodnitzki and later by Arthur Rubinstein after her prize-winning performance at his inaugural Master Piano Competition in Israel in 1974. Her extensive experience as a soloist with the most internationally renowned orchestras is magnified by her refreshingly natural approach and youthful zeal for classical and romantic repertoires.

Vivaldi Virtuosi, chamber ensemble

Cho-Liang LinMade up of 15 select members from the Utah Symphony and some of Salt Lake's best freelance classical musicians, Vivaldi Virtuosi is best known for its long-standing Vivaldi by Candlelight concert series. Acclaimed faculty violinist and UtahSymphony associate concertmaster Gerald Elias directs the seven-year-old ensemble, which also includes faculty musicians Robert Baldwin, Hasse Borup and Pamela Jones, among others. For its Virtuoso Series debut, the ensemble will include wind instruments and will perform a repertoire by Mozart and his contemporaries, Domenico Cimarosa and Josef Myslivecek.
