Biography
Marie Smith teaches K-12th grade students in the Preparatory Division in the Piano Musicianship Classes and summer camps and also instructs adults in the Piano for Pleasure classes.
She taught Kindermusik classes (birth-age 7) at the University of Utah from 1998 to 2005 and currently teaches K-3 grade General Music, pre-choir/choir to grades 4-6 at Wasatch Elementary. Her favorite age group is whichever one she is with!
Her students regularly compete and place in many national, state and local competitions and festivals, and have received scholarships to music schools throughout the state. She also has a performing teen piano ensemble group.
Marie is the past accompanist for the Utah Oratorio Society, has been a musical director for the University of Utah Youth Theatre, and is involved in many church and community programs.
