Kerstin Tenney teaches private violin lessons and accompanies the group violin classes for the Preparatory Division.
While at Northern Arizona University, she taught violin in the NAU Preparatory School, and at the University of Utah, she held a graduate assistantship, teaching violin to undergraduate students. Kerstin also teaches for the Utah Symphony Guild Outreach Program, and does freelance performance work in the Salt Lake valley.
Kerstin is an alumnus of the Brevard Music Center, where she was involved in an intense orchestral training program, studied violin privately, and participated in chamber music during the summers of 2004-2007. In 2007, Kerstin attended the Starling-Delay Symposium on Violin Studies at the Juilliard School of Music, where she attended master classes given by Itzhak Perlman and other distinguished violin pedagogues.
As a member of the Orchestra at Temple Square, Kerstin performs regularly in concerts with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, and in their weekly radio and television broadcasts of Music and the Spoken Word. In addition to performing with the orchestra and choir, she has also recorded several CD’s with them.
