Graduate Admissions

STEP 1) Be familiar with the Degree Program Guidelines and characteristics

STEP 2) Check all deadlines and necessary materials and make a plan to meet the deadlines

STEP 3) Apply for admission to the University of Utah. You will need to upload:

  • Transcripts from all schools attended
  • Three letters of recommendation
  • Statement of purpose
  • Check other specific documentation according to your Degree Program Guidelines

If you cannot upload your transcripts, mail them to:

STEP 4) Apply for a Graduate Student Assistantship

STEP 5) Audition on your primary instrument or voice. Request an audition time.
Some degree programs require submission of materials in lieu of an audition; see Degree Program Guidelines for additional information.

STEP 6) Once accepted, take the mandatory Graduate Placement Examinations
